Racing is Back for our first post!!!

We will endeavour to post regular blogs from all aspects of the horse racing world but for now we are just pleased that racing has finally got the go ahead from the government to start racing on Monday 1st June, with the first meeting at Newcastle and we honestly cant wait!

There are 4 horses due to run on Monday that were highlighted by us at the yearling sales, Oakenshield and Red Treble in the 3.55, Dream with Me in the 5.40 and Luck on Sunday in the 6.15.

Oakenshield is rated highly on his seasonal reappearance and was expected to run well on his 2nd run last season but found the heavy going not to his liking and we're hopeful of a decent run on the allweather surface. Dream with Me still has a Derby entry but the race looks quite hot as John Gosden has Frankly Darling in the race, but Mark Johnston always gets his horses ready to run. Luck on Sunday is an unraced 3yo who is a full sister to multiple Group 1 winner Alice Springs but again has a John Gosden runner to beat, but I'm sure Phoenix Thoroughbreds are hopeful of a good run for the John Quinn trained filly.

Tuesday's racing is from Kempton & Newcastle and one horse we are really excited to see is War Cross trained by Ed Vaughan for Phoenix Thoroughbreds, a 3yo War Front colt by Group 1 winner Curvy (see photo below) He has a Derby entry and I'm sure everyone concerned is very hopeful.

A nice early 2yo to watch could be Pelekai (Kodiac x Pelerin (see below)) a half sister to Premier Power trained by Mark Johnston. Richard Fahey's Samara Bay & James Tate's Desert Vision my provide the sternest opposition.

Its a very strange start to the season, being in June, and with the classics starting next weekend, but we have to make the best of it and be grateful we are racing at all in the current climate!

Good luck everyone and have a very profitable week!
